Epidemic Interventions Demonstration Project Research Award

CHRP is pleased to announce a Call for Applications for Epidemic Interventions Demonstration Project Research Awards to support the testing and evaluation of innovative approaches toward the combined implementation of two interventions intended to improve health outcomes and curb the HIV epidemic in California.  Multi-disciplinary teams of investigators will engage populations most adversely affected by HIV to provide testing and linkage to care plus antiretroviral treatment for those who are HIV positive (referred to as “TLC+”), while at-risk individuals who are HIV negative will be offered prophylactic antiretroviral medication in addition to prevention counseling and medical monitoring (referred to as “PrEP”).  The impetus for these studies is based on recent evidence that medication has a striking effect on viral transmission, both for those who pose a risk of transmitting the virus, and those at risk of infection. This research is intended to provide actionable information for the improved and practical implementation of TLC+ and PrEP in key populations in California.  Awards for the Epidemic Interventions Demonstration Projects are up to $1,200,000 per year in direct costs for up to four years.

CHRP will be hosting a Prospective Applicant Webinar to briefly present the key features of the Call for Applications and answer questions from prospective applicants.

Important features of the application process and key dates are listed below and described in detail in the Call for Applications.
